DIGITAL ANGEL CORPORATION, PARENT COMPANY OF SIGNATURE INDUSTRIES LTD, WINS DEVELOPMENT CONTRACT WITH US AIR FORCE

Digital Angel Corporation, the parent company of UK-based Signature Industries Ltd, is an advanced technology company which specialises in the areas of rapid and accurate identification, location tracking and condition monitoring of high-value assets. The corporation has announced that it has been awarded a contract, by the US Air Force, to design and develop the cable switch assembly that interfaces with the replacement for the widely used AN/URT-33 Personal Locator Beacon.

This follows the contract awarded to Digital Angel Corporation in December 2006 to design and develop the URT 33 replacement radio. The AN/URT-33 radio needs to be replaced due to the frequency change for the related satellite system that is scheduled to be implemented in 2009.

Digital Angel Corporation will combine the cable switch assembly development with the radio design program in order to provide a complete system by June 2007. Following successful trial and testing of the system, the US Air Force replacement requirement for an estimated 15,000 systems will go to open tender.
